Samantha K Smith holds an MFA degree in creative writing from Hunter College, where she works as an adjunct instructor in the English department.

Currently, Samantha is working on shorter essays and a new novel. Kathryn Harrison nominated her for the Shuster Award for Outstanding Masters Thesis. Smith was chosen as a fellow of Columbia University’s Summer Institute on “Rethinking 9/11.” She was quoted in an Associated Press article in a series called “Divided America.” Her work can be found in The New York Times, Granta Magazine, CNN, The Washington Post, Slate, Guernica, ESPNW, Today’s Parent, The Establishment, The Common, Vol. 1 Brooklyn, Stirring, Bustle, Scary Mommy, Tottenville Review, and Electric Literature.

Samantha resides with her husband, sons, and english bulldog in New York and she is represented by Aevitas Creative Management.
